The Mwaleshi River is a beautiful tributary of the Luangwa and the honeypot of North Luangwa National Park. The area is largely undeveloped so exclusivity is guaranteed with activities centered on walking, tailored to a maximum of eight guests. A vehicle facilitates walking further a field. Stays of four to five days are recommended to fully appreciate what the Mwaleshi has to offer.

Guests may enjoy a day trip to the Mwaleshi Falls – one of Zambia’s top highlights. On the way you will pay respects to the spirit of an old Bemba Chief, who was killed there during the Lumpa uprising in the early sixties, by leaving a small gift of mealie meal. At the falls you will delight in a refreshing swim and a picnic.

Mwaleshi Camp is perfectly simple and comfortable, built of local materials with en suite bathrooms. The food is excellent and a visit to the kitchen highly recommended. Who would guess that the delicious bread is baked in a hole in the ground?

The word ‘magical’ is often used to describe Mwaleshi Camp. One leaves refreshed both in body and mind, revitalised and ready to enjoy life again.
