Services to the Travel Industry
Should you wish to find out more about any of the above services, or discuss other travel ideas, contact Jenni Saunders on travel@africageographic.com
Africa Geographic has become increasingly involved in bringing people to Africa – initially telling them why to visit Africa, and now telling them how, where, when and at what times to visit. We are in the unique position of having our journalists, researchers, photographers and travel staff constantly exploring this continent – bringing us the latest, on-the-ground information. Every month our magazines reach 160 000 readers who are die-hard lovers of Africa and regular travellers. We are comprehensively equipped to help you expose your property to exactly the person you want to reach.
Africa Geographic has developed the following products that support the travel industry:
- African Expeditions
- Independent travel (FIT)
- Special Places
- Safari in Style
- Travel directory
- Brochures and marketing material
- Personalised publications
1. African Expeditions: The expeditions arose from the numerous requests we received from readers for advice about visiting our featured places. We started out with a handful of tours led by specialist guides; before long these were booked completely before they were even advertised. Now our expeditions division offers 15 different themed trips, with a total of over 30 departures a year. Visit our travel website to view this selection.
2. FIT: Following the success of our expeditions, we recognised the need for tailor-made travel into Africa and its islands. We now have the infrastructure to arrange private safaris and holidays for individuals as well as groups.
3. Special Places: When selecting the preferred partners for our travel business, we decided to forge in-depth relationships with a limited number of lodges rather than advertise everything that was available. We investigated each area and have selected partners that we feel reflect our own standards of service and conservation ideals, and which provide a truly great experience of the area in question. In return, we promote these properties and offer them exposure in our magazines and on our travel website, with features, editorial and advertising. If you are interested in becoming a Special Place, send us an e-mail or visit the travel website to view our selected lodges and hotels.
4. Safari in Style: These top-quality publications offer the travel industry an opportunity to be aligned with a small, select group of stylish lodges, featuring high-quality photographic and editorial exposure for some of Africa’s top safari destinations. We have published Safari in Style Southern Africa, Zambia in Style, East Africa in Style – and are working on African Islands in Style. These publications are effective marketing tools for lodge owners, and also for the region in question. To view sample pages from these publications, visit www.africageographic.com/safari
5. Travel directory: This directory is designed to offer travellers a detailed resource from which to select supporting services for their trip, such as car hire, restaurants and accommodation. Businesses are listed both on our website and in the magazines. For more information about registering your business in this directory, please contact Tanya at tanya@africageographic.com
6. Brochures: Africa Geographic can design and print brochures for your establishment. Contact us for more information and a quotation.
7. Personalised publications: We are frequently asked to develop personalised products for marketing collectives in the travel industry. These take the form of books, magazines, calendars, postcards and CDs. If you’d like to take advantage of these services, contact us for some ideas and suggestions.
