Cape Union Mart and Africa – Birds & Birding Reader Evening

Seabird expert Dr Peter Ryan will entertain us with an illustrated talk, ‘A wealth of seabirds – our heritage under threat’.

Join us to learn more about this fascinating group of birds, their biology, and the considerable threats and challenges that they face.

Peter Ryan, an Associate Professor at the Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology at the University of Cape Town, is a regular contributor to Africa – Birds & Birding. He has wide-ranging interests in avian biology, and during the past few years has worked mainly on seabird–fishery interactions, primarily the impacts of long-line bycatches on albatross and petrel populations.

Canal Walk, Cape Town
Date: Thursday, 23 July 2009
Time: 18h30 for 19h00
